In an inspiring turn of events, Rosie, a charming and newly listed shelter dog, found her forever home thanks to the power of social media and the compassion of a community that refused to let her story go unnoticed. The saga began when a Joey and I visited the PIMA Animal Care Center in Tucson, Arizona where we first met Rosie on our way out of the shelter (yes, you read that right).
Upon leaving the shelter, we were asked to help update Rosie’s adoption page photo. Eager to assist, we agreed, and our curiosity about Rosie’s background led to a heart-wrenching discovery. The shelter handler shared that Rosie had only just been listed for adoption and that she was just now put on the euthanasia list due to a defense response to another handler.
Determined to make a difference, we turned to our social media platform, launching a campaign to find Rosie a home or foster care. The mission was clear: to use our reach and influence to ensure Rosie wouldn’t spend another day without the promise of a family.
The response was nothing short of miraculous. The community rallied, and inquiries about adopting Rosie poured in. In a heartwarming update, it was announced that Rosie was pulled from the euthanasia list upon 3 interested families.
She was scheduled to be spayed in preparation for her journey to her new home, thanks to the incredible support from people near and far.
